Hurbanovo Observatory

Hurbanovo Observatory, the Slovak Central Observatory, is Slovakia's historic central observatory and a public museum, planetarium and astronomy education centre in Hurbanovo. The current visitor programme lists individual sessions from April to June and in September on Monday–Thursday at 13:30 and Friday at 13:30 and 19:30; from October to March, Monday–Thursday at 13:30 and Friday at 13:30 and 18:00; and in July and August Monday–Friday at 10:00 and 13:00. Visits combine the M. T. Konkoly Museum, a planetarium programme and the historic building, with solar or night-sky observing dependent on weather. Group visits from September to June run on weekdays at 09:00, 11:00 and 13:30, while July–August group visits require telephone booking; weekends and public holidays are closed. Visitor capacity is limited to 35 in the exhibition or historic building and 35 in the planetarium, and group visits must be reserved in advance. English or Hungarian interpretation is available for pre-booked groups, or for individuals only during announced public-language programmes. The current tariff lists adults at €6 for the planetarium, €2 for the museum, €3 for the historic building or €10 for all three, with reduced rates available.
