Icelandic Aviation Museum

The Icelandic Aviation Museum is a permanent aviation-history museum in a hangar at Akureyri Airport, tracing Icelandic commercial aviation from 1919 through the present and interpreting medical transport and the Icelandic Coast Guard. Its collection combines photographs, artifacts, models, historic airplanes and helicopters, with some aircraft open for interior viewing and selected airworthy examples used in the museum’s annual air show. Public hours are seasonal, generally daily in summer and Saturdays in winter, with visits by appointment outside those times; check the operator before travel.
