The Icelandic Aviation Museum is a permanent aviation-history museum in a hangar at Akureyri Airport, tracing Icelandic commercial aviation from 1919 through the present and interpreting medical transport and the Icelandic Coast Guard. Its collection combines photographs, artifacts, models, historic airplanes and helicopters, with some aircraft open for interior viewing and selected airworthy examples used in the museum's annual air show. The museum publishes daily summer hours from 11:00–17:00 (May 15–September 15), Saturday winter hours from 13:00–16:00 (September 16–May 14), and visits by appointment outside those times.
