Inuvik Ground Station

Inuvik Ground Station is SSC Space’s operational commercial satellite ground station in Inuvik, Northwest Territories, Canada, also referred to in SSC material as the Inuvik Satellite Station Facility. It houses multiple 7.3- to 13.5-metre antennas for telemetry, tracking and command and data downlink, supports S-, X- and Ka-band services plus 4-metre S/X antennas, and has UPS and diesel power backup. Its Arctic position allows reception of polar-orbiting satellite passes; combined with SSC’s Esrange facility in Sweden through the Kinuvik concept, it provides daily all-orbit contact opportunities, longer passes, redundancy and high-capacity data access for LEO missions. SSC also identifies the station in operational support for ESA Copernicus and EarthCARE services. This is controlled operator infrastructure rather than a public visitor destination: SSC publishes no routine public-visit programme, so arrange access with SSC and verify current local permissions before field planning.
