Irbene Ground Station

Irbene Ground Station is Viratec’s operational commercial partner station in SSC Space’s global network at the Irbene antenna site near Ventspils, Latvia. SSC can provide NASA LEGS-compliant up- and downlink services in X- and Ka-band from a 16-metre antenna and in S- and X-band from a 32-metre antenna, supporting launch-and-early-orbit, on-orbit and lunar missions with large-aperture ground-segment capability. The site is associated with Ventspils International Radio Astronomy Centre’s RT-32, RT-16 and other research infrastructure, but this record represents the distinct operational satellite ground-station service and not an actor or a separate radio-astronomy organization. It is controlled research and communications infrastructure rather than a public visitor destination: SSC and Viratec publish no routine walk-in programme, so arrange access with the operator and verify current local permissions before field planning. Coordinates follow SSC’s published site reference and are not an antenna-level survey claim.
