JAXA Chofu Aerospace Center Exhibition Hall in Tokyo introduces the center’s aeronautical and space research through supersonic-transport demonstrators, research-aircraft models, a D-SEND#2 wing, the FJR710 turbofan and JR100 lift-jet engines, space-technology exhibits, a Space Mission Simulator and the YS-11-118 cockpit. JAXA’s current visitor guidance lists free self-guided public entry without advance booking, Tuesday–Saturday 10:00–17:00; it closes Sundays, Mondays, national holidays and December 29–January 3, with additional maintenance or event closures possible, so check the current calendar. The YS-11 cockpit and Space Mission Simulator are unavailable from 12:00–13:00; contact staff at the hall entrance for those exhibits. Groups of more than 10 should contact JAXA in advance. Guided group tours are available by advance booking: an exhibit-hall tour takes about 60 minutes, and a facility tour about 90 minutes, subject to the testing schedule. Free car parking is limited; confirm vehicle arrangements with JAXA, particularly for buses.
