JAXA Sagamihara Campus

JAXA’s Sagamihara Campus is the main facility of the Institute of Space and Astronautical Science (ISAS), opened in 1989 for space-science research, education and testing. Visitors can enter the free Communication Hall of Space Science and Exploration, which introduces space-science research and development, and view full-scale M-V and M-3SII rocket models outdoors with explanatory panels. Current ISAS/JAXA guidance lists 10:00–17:00 opening with 16:45 last entry; the Communication Hall is often closed Mondays and Tuesdays, and the live 2026 calendar governs other closures or temporary changes. Individual visits do not require advance reservation; groups of 10 or more should contact the hall in advance, and only designated visitor areas are open. Free parking is limited and not reservable; free bus parking is available but may fill. Wheelchairs, two loan wheelchairs, accessible toilets, baby-changing facilities and a nursing room are available; assistance dogs are allowed and pets are not. The campus cafeteria and shop operate on business days. Visitor address: 3-1-1 Yoshinodai, Chuo-ku, Sagamihara, Kanagawa 252-5210, Japan.
