John W. Berry, Sr. Wright Brothers National Museum

The John W. Berry, Sr. Wright Brothers National Museum is the aviation centerpiece of Carillon Historical Park and a privately operated unit of Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park. It preserves more Wright family artifacts than any other museum, led by the original 1905 Wright Flyer III—the first practical airplane, the only aircraft designated a National Historic Landmark, and the machine the brothers considered their most important. Orville Wright helped plan Wright Hall and made preservation of the Flyer III his final major project. The museum also includes a replica of the brothers' last Dayton bicycle shop and interpretation connecting their engineering work, flight testing, and development of a controllable, reusable airplane.
