Kimura Hisashi Memorial Museum

Kimura Hisashi Memorial Museum preserves the director’s room and scientific heritage of Hisashi Kimura, the first director of the former Mizusawa International Latitude Observatory. Exhibits include the visual zenith telescope used in the study of the Z-term, historic telescopes and observation instruments, Kimura’s office and recorded voice, and Japan’s first Cultural Merit Medal for his astronomical contribution.
