Madrid Deep Space Communications Complex

NASA's Madrid Deep Space Communications Complex in Robledo de Chavela, about 65 km west of Madrid, is one of the three geographically separated complexes in the Deep Space Network. The operator describes six antennas of different diameters, four currently operational, supporting communications with spacecraft and probes; the complex also supports radio-astronomy observations. The separate MDSCC Training and Visitor Center is located next to the operational complex, but its current official page says it is closed to the public until further notice. Treat this record as the operational site and do not assume visitor access; use the separate visitor-center record and current MDSCC guidance before travel.
