March Field Air Museum

March Field Air Museum is a public 30-acre aviation-heritage campus beside March Air Reserve Base, with two hangars, more than 115 historic aircraft from World War I to the present, unmanned aerial vehicles, interactive exhibits, Mission Control and space-exploration interpretation, a Firebase Romeo Charlie Vietnam forward-operating-base display and narrated Flightline tram tours. The museum traces its history to the December 19, 1979 dedication of the new March Air Force Base Museum; it was recognized as an Air Force facility and gained its nonprofit foundation in 1980, and its first exhibit facility opened in 1981. The museum is open Tuesday–Sunday 09:00–17:00; event-related extensions or closures can change access, so check the current calendar or call ahead. Admission is $18 for adults and children 12+, $12 for seniors 62+, $10 for veterans and children ages 5–11, free for members, children 4 and under and active-duty, Guard and Reserve personnel. Narrated 45-minute Flightline tram tours cost $8 and are scheduled at 11:00, 12:00, 14:00, 15:00 and 16:00 when available. Free parking is available, and no March Air Reserve Base pass is required because the museum is off base.
