Messerschmitt Museum of Flight

The Messerschmitt Museum of Flight at Airbus’s Manching site preserves Willy Messerschmitt’s aeronautical legacy through original and replica aircraft, with an emphasis on keeping important examples airworthy. The collection includes the M 17, Bf (Me) 108s, Bf (Me) 109 variants, Me 163 BS, Me 262, HA 200 and HA 300, plus changing displays of related Messerschmitt work such as the KR 200 bubble car. The museum is inside an Airbus Defence and Space site and is accessible to the public only through advance, named registration and permission. Scheduled visitor days begin at 13:00 at the Airbus main gate on Rechliner Strasse, 85077 Manching; arrive around 12:45 for the transfer bus, with the visit returning to the gate around 15:45. Guided tours are free and in German, and visitors must be at least 16 years old and carry an identity card or passport. Private photography is permitted inside the museum but prohibited elsewhere on the Airbus site; pets are not permitted. Airbus may postpone or cancel tours for operational or safety reasons, and temporary restrictions may affect visitors with electrical medical aids during neighbouring EMC tests.
