Minter Field Air Museum

Minter Field Air Museum in Shafter preserves and interprets Minter Army Air Field and Kern County aviation history through artifacts, photographs, military uniforms, radio equipment, a Link Trainer, a Norden Bomb Sight, medals, patches, documents, aviation art, and static aircraft and vehicle displays. The 501(c)(3) nonprofit lists 10 aircraft, 50 display cases, and 5 vehicles; its museum is housed in the original 1941 fire station and the operator describes Minter Field’s World War II training and local aviation legacy. Public hours are Friday and Saturday 10:00–14:00; other visits are by appointment and should be arranged by calling (661) 393-0291 and leaving a message or emailing mfam@minterfieldairmuseum.com.
