At Moorabbin Airport near Melbourne, the volunteer-led Australian Aircraft Restoration Group preserves one of Australia’s largest and most varied aviation collections, including the only complete collection in Australia of aircraft manufactured by the Department of Aircraft Production, Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation and Government Aircraft Factory. Displays and restoration holdings include CAC Wirraway, Boomerang, Mustang and Sabre fighters, Bristol Freighter, Catalina, Beaufort and Beaufighter, Sea Venom, Canberra, Mirage IIIO, F-111C, Viscount, helicopters, gliders, link trainers and a wide range of historic engines. Not every asset is on display; some are stored, under restoration or on loan, with restoration limited by space and funding. Public hours and admission follow current operator guidance.
