MOTAT Aviation Hall (Taiwhanga Rererangi) at 98 Motions Road, Western Springs, is the Museum of Transport and Technology’s dedicated aviation destination, hosting a large collection of recreational, military, topdressing and commercial aircraft and the stories of the people who flew them. The hall traces New Zealand aviation from Vivian Walsh’s sustained 1911 flight and includes the Forces of Flight exhibition with hands-on interactives and objects from MOTAT’s air-and-space collection. It is the aviation site of the wider MOTAT campus; current admission, exhibitions, access details and the heritage-tram connection to Great North Road follow the operator’s visitor information.
