Museu do Ar

Museu do Ar is Portugal’s national air museum, based at Sintra with museum nuclei in Alverca and Ovar. Its main exhibition spans more than 8,000 m² and presents more than 40 aircraft and helicopters, simulators, engines, propellers and equipment, tracing more than a century of Portuguese and world aviation. Exhibits include the Junkers Ju 52, Avro Cadet, DH-87 Hornet, Dragon Rapide, Spitfire, DC-3 Dakota and F-86 Sabre, alongside TAP and ANA heritage, pioneer aviators’ documents and instruments, and historic hangars; the museum maintains an active restoration workshop. Current site access and individual-nucleus availability follow operator guidance.
