Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics in Moscow is a dedicated public space-history museum beneath the Monument to the Conquerors of Space. Its permanent galleries trace Soviet, Russian and international cosmonautics through a collection of about 19,000 items, including more than 690 rocket-and-space-technology holdings spanning engines, launch vehicles, satellites and interplanetary stations, piloted spacecraft and orbital stations from Salyut through the ISS. Displays include a genuine Soyuz TMA-4 descent vehicle and international launch-system/spacecraft exhibits such as RD-107, Energia-Buran, Saturn V and Explorer-1; documents, photographs and personal belongings of cosmonauts and Sergei Korolev add research depth.
