Nançay Radio Observatory

Nançay Radio Observatory is a major French radio-astronomy research station in Sologne, operated as part of the Observatoire de Paris and associated with the CNRS, INSU and University of Orléans. Its large antennas and arrays support solar, pulsar, interstellar-medium, cosmology and low-frequency research. The research instruments and laboratories open to visitors once a year in September during the European Heritage Days. From February through December, the adjacent Pôle des Étoiles offers paid guided site visits, exhibitions, planetarium sessions and astronomy workshops for school groups; contact the visitor centre for reservations. During visits, switch off connected devices such as phones, smartwatches and tablets to protect radio observations. Check the official visitor details before travel.
