NAOJ Mitaka Campus is the headquarters of the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan, an open research campus where visitors can explore designated historic telescope buildings and exhibits including the Observatory History Museum in the 65-cm Telescope Dome, the 20-cm Telescope Dome, the Solar System Walk, the Solar Tower, the heritage 6-m millimeter-wave radio telescope and public exhibitions. Free public visits require guard-house sign-in but no reservation; access is limited to designated visitor areas while laboratories and other research facilities remain restricted. NAOJ’s current visitor guidance lists 10:00–17:00 opening with admission until 16:30, and closure December 28–January 4; check the operator page for temporary maintenance or inspection closures. Solar Observation Parties at the 20-cm Telescope Dome run on Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays and during summer or spring vacation periods, subject to current notices. NAOJ currently notes that access to exhibitions at the Astronomical Instruments Museum is suspended. Free bicycle parking and paid car parking are available. Multilingual guides, Braille and large-print materials, audio and sign-language aids and NAOJ VR extend the experience. Visitor address: 2-21-1 Osawa, Mitaka, Tokyo 181-8588, Japan.
