NAOJ Mizusawa is a public campus of the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan and home to the Mizusawa VLBI Observatory and RISE lunar and planetary research. Visitors can follow a free campus walking course with explanatory panels and view the 20-m and 10-m VERA radio antennas, historic International Latitude Observatory buildings, the Kimura Hisashi Memorial Museum and related observational facilities; the adjacent Oshu Space and Astronomy Museum is a separate city-run destination. Public access is through designated visitor areas and the operator current visitor guidance, while antenna interiors and special programmes may require the annual open-house or other arrangements. Check current hours, weather and campus access before travel.
