Naro Space Centre

Naro Space Centre at 508 Haban-ro, Bongrae-myeon, Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do, is South Korea’s national launch and test facility operated by KARI. It includes launch pads, vehicle assembly and launch-control buildings, tracking radar and telemetry systems, and engine/propulsion test facilities; KARI’s current pages document the Naro (KSLV-I) programme, Nuri (KSLV-II) launch infrastructure and Nuri’s fourth launch in November 2025. The centre has historically been reserved for national launch operations; Korea’s Aerospace Administration said in April 2026 that private-sector access is being prepared after dedicated commercial facilities are completed, with a private launch-site opening targeted for late 2027. Ordinary facility access is strictly restricted because it is a national-security site. KARI’s 24–25 May 2026 special opening for 1,500 people was a limited event, not regular walk-in access. The separate Space Science Museum at the centre entrance has its own public visitor programme; confirm current museum hours, reservations, launch notices and facility permissions before travel.
