NASA Ames Research Center

NASA Ames Research Center is an active federal research campus specializing in aerodynamics, supercomputing, air-traffic systems, astrobiology, entry systems, rotorcraft, autonomy, and advanced spacecraft technology. The Moffett Field campus is not a casual walk-in attraction: NASA center access generally requires preapproved registration or employee sponsorship and compliant identification. Ames's official public visitor center is instead located at Chabot Space & Science Center in Oakland, while the separately mapped Ames Gift Shop remains the limited public-facing stop near the research campus.
