NASA Ames Visitor Center

NASA Ames Visitor Center is the official public visitor center for NASA's Ames Research Center, housed in Fremont Bank Studio 1 at Chabot Space & Science Center in Oakland. NASA's current visitor page highlights spacecraft models, Mercury- and Gemini-era spacesuits, and Ames work in wind-tunnel testing, rover design, space robotics, supercomputing, and space and Earth science. Chabot's current exhibit page describes a hands-on gallery with more than 30 objects and challenges based on real NASA scientists and research; Chabot currently publishes public hours Wednesday–Sunday 10:00–17:00 at 10000 Skyline Boulevard. The Ames experience is reached through Chabot's public admission and schedule, not as a walk-in entrance to the active Moffett Field campus.
