NASA Glenn Research Center

NASA Glenn Research Center, founded in 1941 as NACA’s Aircraft Engine Research Laboratory, is NASA’s Midwest center for aircraft and space propulsion, power, communications, materials and microgravity research. Its Lewis Field campus operates wind tunnels, vacuum and space-environment chambers, drop towers, propulsion and icing facilities; its work supports aeronautics and Artemis, including Orion and Gateway. The active research campus is access-controlled: NASA currently says it is unable to accommodate public tours and directs visitors to self-guided virtual tours instead. The public NASA Glenn Visitor Center is at Great Lakes Science Center, 601 Erieside Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio, where NASA galleries, interactive exhibits and space artifacts are included with Science Center admission; check the current partner schedule and closure notices before travel.
