NASA Goddard Space Flight Center

NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, established in 1959 as NASA’s first space-flight complex, is a major Greenbelt research campus for Earth, Sun, planetary and astrophysics missions. Goddard supports Hubble operations and the James Webb Space Telescope, manages communications with astronauts aboard the International Space Station, builds spacecraft instruments and telescopes, and operates test facilities for flight hardware. Public exhibits are provided at the separate Goddard Visitor Center; the active research campus remains subject to NASA access and security guidance.
