NASA Neil Armstrong Test Facility

NASA’s Neil A. Armstrong Test Facility is a remote 6,400-acre campus of Glenn Research Center in Sandusky, Ohio, formerly known as Plum Brook Station. It supports ground testing for international space and aeronautics communities through the Space Environments Complex, with large thermal-vacuum, acoustic, vibration and electromagnetic-effects capabilities, plus the In-Space Propulsion Facility, Combined Effects Chamber, Hypersonic Tunnel Facility and electrified-aircraft testbeds. Industry, government and academic users can contact NASA facility management about capabilities and test programs. This is a controlled research site: NASA requires visitors to be sponsored and registered, says it is not currently offering public tours, and states that public access occurs only for an advertised Armstrong Test Facility event.
