NASA’s White Sands Ground Station, identified in NASA’s Near Earth Network documentation as White Sands 1 (WS1), is an 18.3 m S/Ka-band satellite ground station at the White Sands Complex in New Mexico. NASA identifies the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter as WS1’s primary supported mission. The station provides S-band command and telemetry, Ka-band telemetry, Doppler and range tracking, antenna autotracking, and baseband data interfaces. It is distinct from NASA White Sands Test Facility, the nearby propulsion, materials and hazardous-systems testing site.
