National Naval Aviation Museum

The National Naval Aviation Museum at Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida traces its public opening to June 8, 1963 and preserves more than 4,000 artifacts and over 150 restored aircraft representing Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard aviation. The free museum is open daily 09:00–16:00; Hangar Bay One closes at 15:30, and the museum closes on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Public access to the active installation is currently through the West Gate at the south end of Blue Angel Parkway from 09:00–15:00; U.S. citizens 18+ need a REAL ID or valid U.S. passport, vehicles and personnel are subject to searches and background checks, and foreign nationals require a U.S. citizen driver or escort plus additional documentation. Base entry can close when museum and Pensacola Lighthouse parking fills, and attraction tickets do not guarantee access. Free parking and admission are provided; free daily docent tours begin at 09:30, 11:00 and 13:00. The Emil Buehler Naval Aviation Research Library is open Monday–Friday 09:00–16:00, with research and donations by appointment. Accessible parking, free loan wheelchairs, ramps, accessible restrooms, theater seating and visual/hearing accommodations are available. The venue is cashless; bags and coolers must remain in vehicles except permitted diaper or medical bags, and only water in an enclosed container may be brought inside.
