National Space Centre

The National Space Centre is a purpose-built public space museum and education charity in Leicester. Its visitor experience includes six interactive galleries, the UK’s largest planetarium and the iconic 42 m-high Rocket Tower, with rockets, satellites, spacecraft, spaceflight artefacts, hands-on exhibits and historic rocketry displays including Blue Streak and Thor Able. The Our Solar System gallery relaunched in July 2026 with a new Outer Solar System Experience, adding interactive exploration of the outer planets and other distant worlds. The centre supports family, school and group learning through presenter-led planetarium shows, workshops and live talks. The operator publishes live opening dates and ticketed admission; book ahead to guarantee entry and, when offered, online purchases can upgrade to a free Annual Pass subject to terms.
