New Norcia Deep Space Antenna

New Norcia Deep Space Antenna is ESA’s Deep Space Antenna 1 (DSA 1 / NNO-1), the 35 m deep-space antenna at ESA’s New Norcia Tracking Station in Western Australia, about 8 km south of New Norcia and 150 km north of Perth. ESA documents S- and X-band uplink and downlink, ranging, frequency and timing, monitoring and control, communications, no-break power, Delta-DOR, GPS-TDAF and radio-science facilities. DSA 1 supports deep-space missions including Mars Express, Rosetta, Gaia, Cluster II and BepiColombo, Launch and Early Orbit Phase operations, and other agencies’ missions through resource-sharing agreements; it is remotely controlled from ESOC. ESA’s second 35 m antenna at the same New Norcia site, DSA 4 (NNO-3), entered nominal operations on 1 April 2026, adding capacity and resilience to the site; this record remains the DSA 1 identity and does not create a separate antenna row. ESA publishes the station address but no routine visitor hours; arrange current permission before field planning.
