North Carolina Aviation Museum

North Carolina Aviation Museum and Hall of Fame at Asheboro Regional Airport is a volunteer-supported nonprofit preserving North Carolina aviation and military history from the First World War to the present. Its exhibits include military and civilian aircraft, wartime memorabilia, military vehicles, weapons, equipment, uniforms, historically accurate aircraft models and a flight simulator, with a Piper J-3 Flitfire flown by Orville Wright and a dedicated North Carolina Tuskegee Airmen exhibit. The airport setting and state-designated Hall of Fame connect local aviation heritage to living flight history. The current operator homepage lists Wednesday–Sunday 10:00–17:00, asks visitors to arrive before 16:00, and warns that severe weather can change operating hours; some older operator pages still list Thursday–Sunday, so confirm the specific date before travel. Admission is $10 plus tax for adults, $8 plus tax for military members and seniors, $5 plus tax for students ages 7–17, and free for children age 6 and under; cash and cards are accepted, but personal checks and breaking $100 bills are not.
