Observatorio Astronómico Nacional de Colombia — Sede Histórica is the first observatory built in the Americas, completed in Bogotá in 1803 and protected as a Colombian national monument. The building preserves the scientific and civic history of José Celestino Mutis, Francisco José de Caldas and Colombia’s early astronomy; guided visits are arranged through the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and the Casa de Nariño access process. Because it stands within presidential grounds, entry requires advance permission and current security, schedule and accessibility conditions must be confirmed.
