Observatorio Mamalluca is Vicuña's municipal public observatory and one of Chile's best-established astrotourism destinations. Current advance-booked experiences range from a guided night-sky presentation and observation with 12- and 16-inch Dobsonian telescopes to the central dome's 16-inch digital telescope, a full-dome municipal planetarium, solar sunset sessions, and an English-language tour. Visits are designed for beginners as well as astronomy enthusiasts and remain weather-dependent. Tickets must be reserved and collected at the observatory's sales office in central Vicuña, and transport to the mountain site is not included.
