Octave Chanute Aerospace Museum

Octave Chanute Aerospace Museum was a historical aviation museum on the former Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, Illinois. The museum operated in Grissom Hall from 1993 through 2015 and interpreted the base's training history and Illinois aviation through aircraft, aerospace artifacts, exhibits, and archival programs. It closed permanently in 2015; its records are now publicly accessible through the Champaign County Historical Archives, while the Village of Rantoul documents Grissom Hall as the former Aerospace Museum building subject to demolition planning. This facility is retained as a decommissioned historical aerospace destination, not a current visitor venue.
