Okayama Astronomical Museum is a public Asakuchi City astronomy destination on Mount Chikurinji, sharing a site with the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan Okayama branch and Kyoto Universitys 3.8-m Seimei Telescope. Its visitor programme combines a planetarium, 4D2U digital-universe theater, solar-observation room with 15-cm and 8-cm refractors, astronomy exhibits, a telescope display and a scenic Seto Inland Sea viewpoint; public telescope tours are arranged through the museum and partner observatories. The first-floor galleries and planetarium are wheelchair accessible, with a wheelchair, stroller and accessible restroom available; upper exhibits and the solar room require stairs. Check the Asakuchi City museum site for current programmes, closures, reservations and access before travel.
