Orroral Valley Tracking Station Heritage Site

Orroral Valley Tracking Station Heritage Site preserves the scale and layout of what the ACT Heritage Council identifies as the Southern Hemisphere's largest station in NASA's former Satellite Tracking and Data Acquisition Network. Orroral tracked scientific spacecraft that prepared the way for human missions, as well as WRESAT, Apollo-Soyuz, and Space Shuttle flights. Although its antennas and equipment were removed by 1985, building foundations, antenna mounts, roads, and other technical footprints remain legible. The registered site is open at the end of Orroral Road with parking, picnic facilities, toilets, interpretive signs, and connections to current heritage and mountain walking routes.
