Paul Wild Observatory Visitors Centre

The self-guided visitors centre at CSIRO's Paul Wild Observatory looks directly onto the six movable dishes of the Australia Telescope Compact Array. Indoor and outdoor exhibits, a small cinema, and the surviving radio-astronomy landscape explain how interferometry combines the antennas and how the Narrabri site has supported solar and radio research since the 1960s. The self-guided centre is free and opens daily 08:00–17:00, including public holidays. Switch phones to flight mode and turn off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth before arrival to protect the radio telescope observations. The public area includes a picnic setting and views of the dishes; it is about 25 kilometres from Narrabri.
