Planes of Fame Air Museum

Planes of Fame Air Museum at Chino Airport preserves nearly 100 historic aircraft, many restored to flying condition, spanning the earliest days of aviation, the First World War, the 1920s and 1930s, World War II, Korea and Vietnam. Visitors can explore hangars and guided interpretation; on Saturdays and Sundays the museum’s Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress is open for visitors to enter, but aircraft displays and flight schedules can change. The museum is open Wednesday–Sunday 10:00–16:00 and closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. General admission is $20; children ages 5–11 are $10 and children 4 and under are free, with member, veteran, senior/AAA and active-duty or reserve military, law-enforcement and firefighter terms published by the operator. Guided tours run about 90 minutes to two hours, have no additional charge, begin between 10:30 and 14:30, and should be booked at least two weeks ahead. The operator’s access page lists road restrictions affecting the museum: Bon View Avenue is closed from Eucalyptus to Merrill, Grove Avenue is closed from Eucalyptus to Merrill, and Eucalyptus is closed between Grove and Walker; Merrill Avenue at Euclid Avenue (Highway 83) is open to all traffic. Fly-in visitors are welcome; check current charts, NOTAMs, weather and Chino Airport information, request transient parking near the tower, then use the pedestrian gate and proceed up Cal-Aero Drive.
