Qantas Founders Museum

Qantas Founders Museum in Longreach, Queensland, is an independent not-for-profit museum established in 1996 at the birthplace of Qantas. Its main museum and the 1922 National Heritage-listed Qantas Hangar tell the story of Qantas and Australian outback aviation through exhibitions, artefacts, multimedia displays, the Catalina display and aircraft. The Museum Only experience is self-guided and does not include access to the Airpark; separately booked guided experiences provide access to aircraft including the DC-3, Catalina Flying Boat, Lockheed Super Constellation, Boeing 707 and Boeing 747, with cockpit, wing-walk and Luminescent Longreach light-and-sound options subject to the operator schedule. The operator currently publishes 08:00–15:00 daily for the 2026 winter listing, with seasonal, public-holiday and Christmas arrangements varying; bookings are recommended and guided experiences can sell out during peak season. The museum is on one level with accessible parking within 10 metres of the entrance, wide doorways, accessible bathrooms, a quiet area, audio guide and registered service-dog access. Airpark aircraft are reached by stairs and access differs by experience.
