RAAF Base Amberley Aviation Heritage Centre

RAAF Base Amberley Aviation Heritage Centre is a Royal Australian Air Force heritage centre on RAAF Base Amberley, preserving Southeast Queensland’s military-aviation story from the 1930s to today across four WWII Bellman hangars. The Air Force display includes Canberra bomber A84-242, Caribou A4-236, F-111 A8-126, Sabre A94-962, aircraft engines, an F-111 crew module, a WWII Jeep, refuelling vehicles and armaments. The current Air Force notice says the centre reopened to public visits on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, 09:00–15:00, after a temporary closure, but Defence operations can change reopening, hours and closures. Bookings are essential for every visit: submit the booking form to raaf.aahc@defence.gov.au at least seven days ahead. Groups are limited to 30 adults; arrival windows vary by group size, with large groups limited to 12:15. Visitors must complete the online base induction, carry the reservation confirmation and bring the same photographic ID recorded on the reservation. The site is inside the active base; pets, alcohol and firearms are prohibited, registered assistance dogs require application, and photography is restricted to the Heritage Centre precinct.
