RAAF Museum

RAAF Museum at historic RAAF Base Point Cook is the official Royal Australian Air Force museum and the birthplace of Australian military aviation. Its aircraft and heritage collection traces more than a century from the Australian Flying Corps and the 1914 Central Flying School through the Second World War and later RAAF service, with aircraft hangars, a Heritage Gallery, outdoor displays, restoration work and heritage flying activity. The museum surrounds aircraft with the stories of the people who supported and flew them. The current Air Force visitor page lists most Thursdays and Sundays from 10:00–15:00, with additional open days advertised. Bookings are essential through Eventbrite and close at 08:00 on the day of attendance; groups of 10 or more should contact raaf.museuminfo@defence.gov.au. The security-controlled base has no public transport; ride-service arrivals must walk from the gate, and the museum car park is about 400 metres inside. Rough and uneven heritage paths require care; entry does not authorise access to other base areas.
