RAAF Woomera Range Complex

RAAF Woomera Range Complex is an Australian Defence test and evaluation facility in South Australia encompassing the Woomera Test Range, RAAF Base Woomera and Nurrungar Test Range. It supports directed Defence and national-interest activities, including trials of weapons systems, explosive ordnance, hazardous materials and military unmanned aerial systems; RAAF Base Woomera includes the airfield, hangars, technical areas and village. The operational area and restricted airspace fall within the Woomera Prohibited Area, where testing can trigger temporary closures and access restrictions, so consult current Defence and WPA notices before travel. The complex also has a long history in rocketry and space activity.
