Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada

Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada is a purpose-built, state-of-the-art museum at 2088 Wellington Avenue on the Winnipeg Richardson International Airport campus, preserving Western Canadian aviation heritage through more than 90 aircraft, artefacts and archives. Its immersive galleries interpret bush flying and northern exploration, airline development, Indigenous aviation stories, military innovation, aerospace design and the people who connected Western and northern communities. Regular public hours are 10:00–17:00 daily. The operator’s current 2026 visitor guidance lists Victoria Day, Canada Day, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Thanksgiving as 10:00–17:00; Remembrance Day as 13:00–17:00; Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day as closed; New Year’s Eve as 10:00–14:00; and New Year’s Day as 10:00–17:00. It also lists 2026 closures on February 24, March 5, September 12–13 and November 6–7, plus an early 14:00 closing on May 28; the museum may close without notice for private events, unforeseen circumstances, maintenance or other operational requirements. Admission is CAD 16 for adults, CAD 13 for seniors 65+ and students 13–17, CAD 9.50 for youth 3–12, and free for children 2 and under; prices exclude GST and may differ for special events or exhibitions. Members and Indigenous Peoples enter free, active Canadian military personnel and Canadian military veterans receive 10% off, and up to two support companions accompanying a person with a disability enter free. Public museum parking is CAD 5 per visit for up to four hours with paid admission; members and annual-pass holders receive free same-day museum parking, which does not apply to Winnipeg Richardson International Airport lots. The museum has an accessible drop-off loop and parking, complimentary wheelchairs and motorized scooters, wheelchair access throughout, closed-captioned video kiosks and welcomes service animals; Winnipeg Transit bus stop 20542 outside the museum is served by routes D12, D13 and 224.
