San Diego Air & Space Museum

San Diego Air & Space Museum in Balboa Park presents regional aviation and space heritage through historic aircraft and spacecraft, flight simulators, a 3D/4D theater, aerospace galleries, education programming and the International Air & Space Hall of Fame. The San Diego Aerospace Museum was incorporated in 1961 and opened to the public on February 15, 1963; after the 1978 fire, the rebuilt museum opened in the historic Ford Building in 1980. The operator’s Hours & Pricing page lists normal hours as daily 10:00–16:30, while its FAQ says 10:00–17:00 with last ticket sold at 16:30; confirm the date before travel. It is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Regular admission is $35 for adults 12+, $29 for seniors 65+, students and retired military with ID, $22 for youth ages 3–11, $15 for active-duty military, and free for children 2 and under and members. San Diego County residents, active-duty military and dependents, and San Diego County college students receive free general admission on the second Tuesday of each month except December and January with qualifying ID; special exhibitions, the theater and simulators are excluded. The museum is fully wheelchair accessible and lends wheelchairs first-come, service animals are welcome, children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult, and food and beverages are not permitted inside. Museum-floor docent tours, subject to docent availability, are offered Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:30 to noon. Restoration Facility tours run Monday and Wednesday, start at 10:30 a.m., cost $10 with paid general admission, and require signing up at the admission desk.
