SANSA Hermanus Space Science Facility

SANSA Hermanus Space Science Facility is the South African National Space Agency’s Space Science campus at 1 Hospital Road, Hermanus. It hosts Africa’s only 24/7 operational Space Weather Centre, which provides forecasts, warnings and data for aviation, communications, navigation, satellite and power users, and includes a magnetically clean environment used to characterize and calibrate magnetic sensors. SANSA offers pre-booked public tours that include the operational centre, but the site is a National Key Point and requires visitor identity verification. The SANSA Science Centre is the public-facing visitor destination; confirm current booking and entry requirements before travel.
