Serhiy P. Korolyov National Museum of Cosmonautics

Serhiy P. Korolyov National Museum of Cosmonautics in Zhytomyr interprets Ukraine’s space heritage through the birthplace and legacy of rocket designer Sergei Korolyov. Founded in 1970 and granted national status in 2021, the museum preserves about 5,000 holdings, including an original Soyuz-27 descent vehicle returned from space, an R-12 rocket, Soyuz spacecraft and orbital-section technology, a Vostok descent vehicle, the Venera-15 interplanetary station, the PS-1 first-satellite display, lunar soil and Korolyov and cosmonaut memorabilia. The memorial house and Cosmos exhibition connect Ukrainian science, engineering and human spaceflight; current visits and accessibility arrangements follow the museum’s operator guidance.
