Sheshan Observatory

Sheshan Observatory is the historic Sheshan station of the Shanghai Astronomical Observatory, Chinese Academy of Sciences, founded in 1900 and now part of a wider astronomy research network. The former observatory is presented through the Shanghai Astronomy Museum, whose collections and public science programmes interpret more than a century of astronomical work on the hill, while the working station supports modern observation and research. Current museum guidance lists opening hours of 08:30–16:30 with last entry at 16:00; the museum is at the summit of West Sheshan and is served by buses 68 and 199 and Metro Line 9.
