Shoreham Aircraft Museum

Shoreham Aircraft Museum is a volunteer-founded Battle of Britain and Second World War aviation-history museum in Shoreham Village, established in 1978 with a permanent display opened in 1988. Relics excavated from crashed British and German aircraft—including Spitfire, Hurricane, Messerschmitt Bf 109, Fw 190, Ju 88 and Do 17 material—are interpreted alongside engines, propellers, fuselage and wing sections, instruments, controls, bombs, weapons, documents, letters, photographs, eyewitness accounts, flying helmets, uniforms, insignia and Home Front memorabilia. The museum’s displays connect local crash sites and the airmen who fought over southern England with its Local RAF Memorials Project, and proceeds support those memorials.
