Siding Spring Observatory Visitor Centre

Siding Spring Observatory Visitor Centre is the public daytime gateway to the Australian National University’s working optical and infrared research site near Coonabarabran, New South Wales. ANU’s current visitor guidance describes the Siding Spring Exploratory’s hands-on astronomy exhibition, café and gift shop, plus the Anglo-Australian Telescope’s free public viewing gallery and a lookout over Warrumbungle National Park. The observatory is about 28 km from Coonabarabran; it is not open at night and closes during severe fire danger or extreme weather. Check current visitor and activity guidance before travel.
