Solent Sky Museum

Solent Sky Museum is Southampton’s independent aviation museum and charity (number 262995), presenting more than 20 aircraft from the Solent region’s 1910–1960 aviation research and development era. The collection includes the Supermarine Spitfire F24, Short Sandringham flying boat with flight-deck visits on request, 1929 Schneider Trophy Supermarine S.6A, Saunders-Roe SR.A/1 jet flying boat, Harrier and Supermarine Swift cockpits, Sea Vixen, Vampire, Gnat, Tiger Moth, SUMPAC human-powered aircraft and other regional aviation exhibits; the museum also houses the Hampshire Police and Fire Heritage Collection. The operator publishes year-round walk-in access Monday–Saturday 10:00–17:00 and Sunday 12:00–17:00, with last entry at 16:00 daily. Admission is £14 adults, £10 children and £30 for a family ticket; no booking is needed for ordinary visits. On-street parking is available with council meter charges, and the operator suggests the Bluestar 19 bus from Southampton Central to Ocean Village.
