South Point Ground Station

South Point Ground Station is SSC Space’s operational satellite ground-station site at South Point on the Island of Hawaii, United States. SSC describes two independent antennas supporting telemetry, tracking and command plus data downlink across S-band, X-band and Ku-band, with space in the equipment housing and on the land for customer-owned antenna equipment. The station has its own UPS and diesel power backup and is positioned roughly 90 km south of Kona at about 367 m above sea level, making its low-latitude location useful for low-inclination satellite operations, geostationary orbit raising, and LEO orbit-raising and daily-pass support. SSC lists it as part of its global network alongside Santiago and Western Australia and provides no routine public visitor programme for the controlled site; arrange access with SSC and verify current local permissions before field planning.
