South Point Ground Station

SSC Space’s South Point Ground Station is an operational commercial satellite ground-station site at South Point on Hawaii Island, United States. SSC describes two independent antennas supporting telemetry, tracking and command plus data downlink across S-, X- and Ku-band, with space in equipment housing and on the land for customer-owned antenna equipment. The station has UPS and diesel power backup and sits roughly 90 km south of Kona at about 367 m above sea level. SSC says its low-latitude location supports low-inclination satellite operations, geostationary orbit raising and LEO orbit-raising and daily-pass support, complementing its Santiago and Western Australia stations.
